The mission of this competition is to encourage artists to develop and refine their classical art skills and spotlight their mastery by providing a new platform for showcasing contemporary-traditional works of art.

We ask artists to represent The Sensations of Summer via contemporary-traditional methods.  Any genre of work will be eligible for consideration.

The works submitted could feature anything from children with the impish joy of chasing through the sprinkler, to still lifes depicting sweet, ripe fruits or various summer crops, to figures racing to eat ice cream cones before it starts to melt around their fingers, to national parks, to waves hitting the shore, crowded beach scenes, to blooms of wildflowers, etc.  Some potential sculptures could feature anything from wildlife spotted commonly in the summer to beachgoers clad in swimsuits, etc.

The guest judge for this competition is TBD.

Submission deadline is Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 11:59 pm.

The exhibition will be made live on the California Art Club’s virtual gallery from June 21, 2024 to September 19, 2024. Winners will be announced on opening day.

Artwork will be available for acquisition unless noted otherwise.
