The Art of Appreciating Art – Opening Day Lecture with Jean Stern

On opening day for the California Art Club’s 112th Annual Gold Medal Exhibition, one of the nation’s most anticipated displays of Contemporary-Traditional art, art historian Jean Stern will explain the key elements that art experts and savvy collectors consider as they view representational works. Stern will discuss the basics of composition, form, perspective, color, and drama, using artwork from California Art Club artists as examples. This lecture is a perfect primer for art enthusiasts interested in educating their eye on what to consider when looking at art.
