The perfect artistic opportunity for an early Halloween mystery! SATURDAY, October 23, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Join the California Art Club’s Los Angeles Chapter as we gather at a unique and singular site, Pasadena’s fabled Castle Green. We have been invited to paint plein air within the gated grounds of this private residence. Its turreted towers and Moorish inspired 1898 architecture started as an elaborate hotel/resort. Our program will conclude with a critique of the paintings generated in their secluded, recently restored, bridge span of the complex. Residents  will be invited to partake of the proceedings. LA Chapter Chair Chuck Kovacic and CAC Co-Vice President, Brenda Swenson will host this singular plein air opportunity. The program is FREE to our CAC members and you are encouraged to bring non-members, who are welcome and encouraged to join in the proceedings, even become a member!

Commencing at 10:00 a.m., CAC members will have 4 hours to experience this rare opportunity as we delve into the gated grounds of this fabled and mysterious cluster of apartments. Originally a resort hotel, the rooms have since become a unique gathering spot for artist, collectors and area professionals. Few are allowed entry to tour its restored high Victorian interior and gardens. We’ll access a unique roof top garden and have a curated tour from their board member, Joyce Evans. At the end of our visit, well have a critique within their recently restored bridge area. Residents will be invited to view the completed paintings.
