Under the hospices of the Orange County Chapter, Signature Artists and Mentorship Program Members are invited to an exclusive paint/sculpt-out at Casa Romantica Cultural Center on Sunday, May 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Casa Romantica requests that all artists bring a dropcloth to paint on to preserve the historical grounds.
Artists will have the opportunity to create works of art in a unique and historical setting with live models and classic cars; as well as attend a live painting demo by CAC Artist Member Rick J. Delanty. After the demo, participants are welcome to view Delanty’s exhibition “Inspired by History: Rick J. Delanty & California Impressionists.”
History of Casa Romantica
This Spanish Colonial Revival home was built by the founder of San Clemente, Ole Hanson in 1927. It served as his representation of the California dream, and patterned the development of the rest of the city after this property.
Casa Romantica was registered as a historic landmark, restored to its original beauty through a major capital campaign, and transformed into a cultural arts center as well as an architectural and botanical destination.
Nearly twenty years later, this vibrant institution programs over 100 multi-cultural events every year, hosts a variety of educational programs, maintains 2.5 acres of diversified water-wise coastal flora from all over the world, and welcomes over 40,000 visitors annually.
About the Artist
Rick J. Delanty is a winning California coastal and landscape artist, who brings his wonder and awe of God’s Creation to canvas. The artist employs both oils and acrylics in the creation of his work. His intention is to reveal the splendor of quiet corners of the Earth, offering the viewer the opportunity to experience the wonder and peace of Nature. His impressionistic style brings not only the scenes of California to life, but inspires the viewer with his concentration on creating mood and movement in every artwork. The artist conveys his own experiences in nature with bold, vibrant colors, intermingled with a subtlety and sensitivity that speak of peace, hope and life.
