MALIBU VENTURA CHAPTER PAINT/SCULPT-OUT

Where: Sycamore Cove Beach
(a unit of Point Mugu State Park)
9000 West Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu, CA (located in Ventura County)
Directions:
From the San Fernando Valley: Take the 101 Ventura Freeway west to Kanan Road in Agoura Hills and turn south. Travel about 15 miles south on Kanan (turning into Kanan-Dume Road) to Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu and turn right. Continue west on PCH for about 15 miles, passing Leo Carrillo State Beach at the Ventura County line. Sycamore Cove Beach is about 3 miles further west of the county line on your left hand side.
From Oxnard and Ventura: Travel south on the 101 Ventura Freeway to Las Posas road in Camarillo and turn right heading south. Continue on Las Posas road to PCH. Turn left and head south/east on PCH for several miles until reaching Sycamore Cove Beach on your right.
Parking: State parking fee applies.
Facilities: Toilets are located in the beach parking area.
Pack: Please pack water and lunch, sunscreen, and umbrellas.
Note from Sandra Hall:
“Time to head to the beach again! And what better place to go than Sycamore Cove. There’s lots of variety with surf and sand, rocks and mountains, people, birds, and animals. I park at the far end of the parking lot to the left when you enter the beach. Then it’s a short, level walk to the rocks, surf, and cove for a choice of scenes. As an alternative, if you go to the right parking lot, you can park close to the beach for ocean views to paint. Hope to see you there!”
