Douglas Family Preserve Paint/Sculpt-Out

Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Free

The Santa Barbara Chapter invites you to a paint/sculpt-out on May 6, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

The 69 acres Douglas Preserve was donated to the City of Santa Barbara in 1997 after an extensive fund raising campaign. It was formally a private nursery. It acquired its name after actor Michael Douglas made a large financial contribution (in tribute his father actor Kirk Douglas) to complete the Fund Raising Campaign.

This large open-space area sits above Arroyo Burro Beach and contains walking trails and scenic ocean views. The park is a popular destination for dog owners, as dogs can enjoy the park without their leashes on.

Group will meet at 9am at the 2604 Mesa School Lane, where there is street parking and a gated entrance to the Preserve.

Directions
From 101 take Las Positas off ramp towards the Ocean.
At the roundabout, continue around to the left and exit on Cliff Dr.
Take Cliff Drive to Mesa Lane.
Follow Mesa Lane and turn right onto Mesa School Lane.
Follow Mesa School Lane to the end and you will see a CAC  Paint-Out Banner. Street
