A Conversation with host Chuck Kovacic featuring Signature Artist Michael Obermeyer

Please join the California Art Club as we start a new chapter of our Art Insiders: Learn & Mingle program. The CAC and Signature Artist Chuck Kovacic will revisit the intimate conversation series Inside The Atelier with our inaugural guest being California Art Club Signature Artist and President Michael Obermeyer. Come along with us as we have a personal discussion about one artist’s art, career, inspirations, and development in a welcoming and cozy interview environment.

Inside The Atelier is a series of taped discussions which engages the leading artists of the California Art Club. Recorded before a live audience at CAC headquarters in Pasadena, CA, moments of insight into the creative process will entertain, inform and inspire. Hosted by Chuck Kovacic, each guest will share the beginning of their artistic journey and how they’ve maintained and expanded their creative abilities.

We would love to have you join us in-person! A limited number of seats are available for the Live recorded conversation which will include a Q&A session with Michael. Refreshments will be served.

Please Note: In the past, we have tried to completely fill our program room so as many people as possible could enjoy our events. For everyone’s safety, we are limiting the in-person attendance inside our program room for our return to 20 RSVPs.

A native of Southern California, Michael Obermeyer received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration at California State University, Long Beach. A twenty year career in illustration included works for Disney Studios, the Anaheim Angels, McDonnell Douglas, Coldwell Banker, and the United States Air Force. Because of his illustration background, he is equally comfortable with the landscape and the figure. Many of his paintings are in the U.S. Air Force Historical Art Collection in the Smithsonian Institute and the Pentagon. Currently, his paintings are showing at galleries in Carmel, Pasadena, Balboa Island and in Laguna Beach, where he is a regular exhibitor at the Festival of Arts.

He maintains his studio in Laguna Beach, California.

Host Chuck Kovacic is an Honor Court member of the Mid-Valley Art League and in 2017 was named to Signature status in the California Art Club. In 2016 he was the recipient of the CAC’s “William and Julia Bracken Wendt Award.” He is a frequent exhibitor at the CAC’s annual Gold Medal show as well as their Old Mill Gallery in San Marino.
