About the California Art Academy and Museum:
The California Art Academy and Museum (CAAM) was founded in 1997 by the California Art Club (www.californiaartclub.org) to further the Club's charter to promote traditional fine arts in the fields of painting, drawing and sculpture; to produce and promote art exhibits that foster understanding and interpretation of traditional art heritage and California history; and to furnish educational opportunities in fine arts. Currently, CAAM provides ongoing workshops lead by nationally recognized artists. CAAM has embarked on a capital campaign to raise funds for permanent location and ongoing operating expenses. Future plans include a tuition-based academy for traditional training in painting, drawing and sculpture, a public educational museum displaying works by early California artists and a research and archival art library for artists and scholars.
