NEARLY 80 FINE ARTISTS WILL CONVERGE ON THE LOS ANGELES
CATHEDRAL
TO CREATE ARTWORK FOR AN UNPRECEDENTED EXHIBITION OF SACRED ART
'Spiritual Spectrum' Exhibit by California Art Club
Artists Will Be on View
at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels During July and August
WHAT: "Paint-Out" for the "Spiritual Spectrum" Art
Exhibition
at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels
In preparation for an unprecedented exhibition of sacred art at the
Cathedral of Our Lady
of the Angels, premier fine artists from throughout the Golden State
will converge upon
the religious, cultural and civic landmark for a one-day "Paint-Out"
of the majestic
structure and its environs. The public is invited to watch and ask questions
of the artists
as they create inspiring works of art.
The exhibition, entitled "Spiritual Spectrum: Paintings
and Sculptures by the California
Art Club," will be on view throughout the Cathedral's chapels and
gardens from July 7
to August 27, and will spotlight not only religious images, but also
landscape, figurative,
plein air and in-studio subjects that have inspired the artists spiritually.
WHO: More than 80
artists are expected to set-up their easels on the Cathedral grounds
for
this
painting event. All artists are members of the prestigious California
Art Club,
which
was exclusively invited by the Cathedral to create and exhibit sacred
art this
summer
for both Angelenos and visitors to the City of Angels to enjoy.
